Parenting Coaching

One-to-One Parenting Support

Common issues which can cause significant levels of family stress and conflict include- but are not limited to- poor sleep, eating problems, toileting and challenging behaviour. A professional and personalised support plan will be devised with you, using positive parenting techniques, to gently guide you to understand, nurture and enjoy your child. An initial consultation in the home environment will be followed by further home visits, observation sessions, liaison with other relevant services e.g. your child’s nursery, email and telephone support, home activities, handouts and evidence-based literature.

Is it for me? You may feel that your child is struggling and you want to help guide him in the right direction, but you have tried everything you can think of. You may feel isolated and have started to avoid social situations with your child for fear she might “play up”. You may feel your child’s and your own emotional or physical health is suffering as a result of your family’s issues. You may worry that your child is not enjoying friendships or is not learning. You may feel like giving up and are worried about relationship and family breakdown. You may be worrying that someone in your family is going to get hurt. Objective, professional support from outside the family can help. I can support you to understand why your child may be experiencing these issues, and to focus on moving forward to regain harmony within your family home.

In order to gain the most from your parenting support, I can offer appointments within your own home, in an informal, neutral setting, or in a clinical setting, based in Rugby. Your requirements will be discussed on making your appointment.

Sleep consultancy: Hourly rate as above and/or £150 per night (9pm-7am). Please note that Gentle Touch Parenting will never advocate the use of methods which allow babies to cry uncomforted, as this is not in line with a holistic and relationship-based approach. For this reason, results may not be immediate, but will offer you reassurance as well as developmentally appropriate methods that you can build into both your day time and night time routines.

Intensive Packages are available on request: Ideal if you require more intensive support and observation within the home and can be helpful for routines such as bed time, meal times and over night. Hourly rate applies and to be agreed on booking.
